On February 12, I had my first piano recital. These are my four little guys. They did such a great job. The two in the middle had done a recital before with a previous teacher, but the other two were a littel nervous for their first one. I was so proud. I'm still surprised that people actually let me teach their kids. I am so not qualified, but we have a good time.Zack convinced me to let him try out the potty. After about 10 minutes of this, he was done. It's a start.
Sydney finished up her basketball season. She did a great job and is a lot tougher on the court than anywhere else. She is number 2.

We went to the bowling alley on base for a birthday party for a friend of ours. Sydney is the only one of our kids who had been bowling before. Everyone had a good time, including Tyler who ate pizza for the entire two hours. Seriously. He put away three slices.

Valentine's Day finally arrived. Sydney couldn't have been more excited. You would have thought it was Christmas. The night before, she said, "We'd better get to bed so Valentine's Day can come." Here she is all dressed for her party at school.
This is just another example of Tyler the Monkey Man. He climbs on everything. Can you see his awesome haircut? It's shorter on top than I would like, but what can you do?
And here is our latest edition. His name is Aslan. Some friends of ours are moving to Alaska and don't feel like they can take both of their cats with them. We were going to take both, but the other one didn't seem to like us, and my friend really missed her. We gave her back, but we got to keep this guy.
Tyler is just now coming around. We got him Wednesday evening, and Tyler has been terrified any time the cat was in his field of vision. Today he was crawling right up to him and making happy noises. Just don't ask him to touch the cat.

Sorry about the gap in posts. I missed one Sunday just because I was busy, and the last two weeks I have been sick. My cold tricked me and started getting better only to slam me with a nasty sinus infection. Yucky.

How exciting to have your first piano recital! I'm teaching now, too, and I'm planning a recital for this spring--end of April, beginning of May sometime. Never done one myself before, any tips for me as a teacher? :)

I didn't know that you taught piano! That is fun! I have been teaching on an off for 13 years now and love it. I only have 1 student right now (5 kids makes it harder!). My favorite recital we held at a nursing home (we had an audience that loved it or couldn't hear it:).

I just caught up. So much going on. The snow, a 1st birthday, kids getting too big, and wow! Your life is so full. Glad things are going so well. I miss you. I would be excited for my kiddies to take piano from you--you're uber talented, Melanie!
